The gates at the Royal Hospital Chelsea open this week for the annual RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Take inspiration and wake up your interiors with our round up on modern florals for interiors, from pretty cushions to vibrant wallpapers the choices are endless, the only problem we face is choosing which beautiful design to have. We asked Sarah Dickson, Betta Living's interior designer for some hints and tips on how to pull the look together.
Using floral patterns & prints in your home
Modern floral designs have migrated from catwalk to the high street and are now filtering into home interiors in a big way. Florals in the home have been an age old design favourite but 'modern florals' have bigger and brighter flowers with a more painterly feel.
Tips for introducing this trend into your home
Introducing a new design into your home for the first time can be quite daunting, so it’s understandable to feel a little apprehensive about creating a feature wall or wallpapering an entire room. When creating a new room it's helpful to start small by adding a few accessories first to see if the look works for you. Try adding a floral blind, a rug, a cushion or other accent item. Use this piece to draw your inspiration from, build upon and to create the rest of your room.
Top modern floral home accessories
The accessories Sarah would chose to introduce the modern floral trend into the home would be blinds and curtains, cushions, rugs, artwork, bed linen and tableware. Here's some of our top picks of floral home accessories:

Don't feel restricted to stick solely to florals, layering the look with stripes, plain blocks of colour and neutral shades can create a great contemporary look for any room. Here are some rooms which have mastered the modern floral look to inspire you.
If you want to freshen your room décor this spring add some modern floral touches for a bright update and let the colour flood in.
