Winter Lighting

Lighting plays such an important part in a room's atmosphere, whether it’s a kitchen, dining room, bedroom or home office.

And with the dark nights upon us, our attention turns to lighting during the winter more than any other time of year.

So we've put together our Guide To Lighting to shed some light on the matter!

Lighting can enhance design features in a kitchen as well as creating practical light for preparation and cooking areas. Downlights are perfect for illuminating functional areas. See how fantastic this looks in our Phoenix Kitchen.

Plinth lighting isn’t necessarily something you’d think about - but our designers love it!

Our Harvard Kitchen below shows how plinth lighting can work very effectively.

If you are looking to add warmth to your kitchen, lighting shelves are the perfect solution.

This design feature is particularly effective if you have a smaller space as it will instantly illuminate a dark corner.

Lighting shelves work well in a kitchen but don’t be afraid of trying it in other room in your house too. You’ll be amazed at the result.

Next in our lighting guide is the bedroom

The bedroom is the one room where lighting is really important, but don’t worry it’s really easy to create the right atmosphere through selecting the right lights.

Our favourite lighting in the bedroom is headboard, plinth and spot lighting. Why not pop into your local Betta Living store and have a chat to one of our designers, they can suggest different options and help you to create a bespoke look.

Light Up A Home Office

If you have a room dedicated as your home office, or even if it's just a spare room that you use to do your work in, it's important that you have the right lighting, especially if you are spending long periods of time in there.

Avoid harsh strip lighting and opt for a subtle glow that will not only look super stylish it will provide the right amount of light to work. Popular solutions include under shelf lighting and lighting shelves.

Plinth lighting works very well in our Brilliance Cream home office and shelf lighting adds a soft feel to the Limed Oak Finish Home Office.
