September has arrived and with it the new Autumn TV schedule is rolling out across our screens.  The new programming isn't just bringing the return of X-Factor and Strictly Come Dancing there is plenty for the home improvement viewing addict with lots of new series to keep you entertained as the evenings become darker.  

So if you are a property programme addict, a sofa based "home-ista" here's what you need to know about what is on, and when, to avoid missing any of your favourites and ensure you have a regular fix of property programmes...

 Grand Designs

Join Kevin McCloud this Autumn on Grand Designs as he kicks off a brand new series following some of Britain's most ambitious self-building projects.  The first in the series starts this Wednesday 4th September at 9pm on Channel 4 with more brilliant and financially frightening stories of people pursuing their architectural dreams.  These include a couple from Yorkshire with little knowledge of renovation who set about converting a decaying 1920s cinema into a cosy family home. 

 

Location Location Location

Is there any better couple than Phil and Kirstie to find any homeowner the perfect new pad?  Love them or hate them you can catch up with the first episode of the fourteenth series of Location, Location, Location which started last Thursday on 4oD.  Watch the remainder of the series on Thursday nights at 8pm on Channel 4 with Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer helping house hunters to find their dream homes. 

 

Restoration Home

If you like period properties and homes that have a history and tell a story make sure you tune in to Restoration Home.  Caroline Quentin is hosting the third series of Restoration Home over on BBC1 following owners of crumbling historic buildings as they save them from ruin by restoring them into 21st-century dream houses.  Tune in on Mondays at 9:05am on BBC2 or view the series via iPlayer.

 

Beenys _restoration

If you haven't already seen it then worth a watch is Beeny's Restoration Nightmare not only is it great vewing but it is a chance to see Sarah Beeny on a building site of her own.  Follow the restoration as Sarah and her husband overcome the challenges of rennovating Rise Hall.  The second series focuses on the restoration of all the state rooms and further bedrooms of their Georgian house and the whole of the first and second series are now available to view on 4oD. 

 

Kirsty Allsop Home Style

Four special programmes aired in August presented by Mrs Thrifty herself, Kirstie Allsopp.  These are definitely worth a watch if you like homemade touches in your home. In Kirstie Allsopp's HomeStyle Kirstie has selected her favourite crafts from previous series, as well as showcasing some brand new ones, and hopes to make everyone fall in love with their own home.  Set your recorders for 1:20am on More4 or catch up at your leisure on 4oD.
