Fitted kitchen and bedroom specialist Betta Living has announced the reopening of its new retail showroom in Newcastle-upon-Tyne following a £100k makeover. The former showroom had to be closed following this year's floods, which ravaged the area and damaged the store's interior.
The new showroom, on North Tyne Industrial Estate in Benton, is now the largest in the group, offering 5,000 sq ft of prime retail space. It has been refitted to the highest specifications, offering customers the opportunity to browse around 30 displays of fitted kitchens and bedrooms and get specialist design advice from Betta Living's team of experienced design consultants.
Marketing Manager at Betta Living, Barry Rourke, said: "The floods caused havoc for many businesses in the area and we are happy to be able to reopen. We have taken the opportunity to create a state-of-the-art showroom, which provides a modern and exciting shopping experience.
"Our expansion and investment instore refurbishment, which is taking place across the UK at a cost of around£700k, comes on the back of one of the most successful trading periods we have seen, with a year to date sales increase of 46%.
"We seem to be capitalising on customers who are investing more in their homes rather than moving house, undoubtedly a circumstance of the current economic situation. We offer homeowners the latest designer looks at the right price and quality, coupled with an inspiring shopping experience.
"We have designed the most modern and exciting retail spaces that showcase our extensive range of kitchens, bedrooms and home offices and included some of our innovative products like our bespoke TV bed and pull down bed that can be incorporated into an office or bedroom design."
The company, which also opened new stores in Reading, Tamworth and Cannock during the summer, is currently in negotiations to open its 20th UK store later this year. The stores support Betta Living's retail presence in some of the UK's largest shopping centres around the UK as well as a personal in-home consultation service.
The privately owned business, which dates back to 1966, currently employs 70people at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility based in Oldham, Lancashire. It boasts a team of 80 sales designers, 100 marketing staff and a network of over 80 fitting teams recognised throughout the UK as being 'the best in the business'.
