This weekend the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey hits the big screen but the impact of "Mr Grey" has already filtered down to our homes as we are not alone in seeing a massive increase in demand for grey colour ways.
The “Fifty Shades of Grey effect” has seen the popularity of grey soar in recent months – particularly in the bedroom! Supporting claims from top designers at Betta Living, Duette® Blinds and Apollo Blinds that grey is the new white for 2015. From furniture, accessories, shutters and blinds, the retailers have been stocking extra grey products to cope with demand.
Our own Barry Rourke believes it’s women leading the trend. Barry says, “All of the bedrooms that we show on the website styled with shades of grey, as well as our anthracite dark grey fitted bedroom furniture, are selling like hot cakes! Anything featuring grey is popular and the majority of decisions on bedroom choice are being made by women, so I think it’s no coincidence that this recent surge in demand coincides with the launch of the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ movie.”
